Lawrence J. Zlatkin heads the US operations for Dhruva and is based in New York. He specializes in international tax aspects of cross border investment and trade, with specific focus on India-US tax issues. He has considerable experience in US inbound and outbound investments involving India, Europe, Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, South East Asia and Japan.
Lawrence previously worked for 24 years as senior tax counsel to General Electric Company and GE Capital Corporation. Lawrence was a member of GE’s senior leadership team responsible for GE’s tax profile and strategy spanning GE’s global platforms, and he led GE’s tax organization in Europe, India, East Asia and ANZ.
Lawrence joined GE in 1992 from Mayer, Brown in Chicago, where he specialized in international tax planning. He has published a number of articles on tax issues related to inbound and outbound international investments, most recently for Tax Management International Journal on tax reform and ethics and international tax, and he frequently lectures on international tax issues.
He is a graduate of McGill University in Canada and the University of Chicago Law School.
